Kay Helene Meares

Frankenmuth, MI (Formerly of Prudenville, MI)

Passed away peacefully with family by her side Thursday, April 16, 2026 at her home after having a beautiful life; age 90 years.  Kay Felt was born on September 7, 1935 in Grand Rapids, MI and was raised by Alice and John Phillips.   She is survived by her husband Thomas Meares Jr. whom she married on January 23, 1955. They were married for seventy-one wonderful years.

Kay was a member of the Celtic Cross Church in Warren, Michigan and the Houghton Lake Global Methodist Church in Houghton Lake, Michigan

Surviving besides her husband Thomas are: 5 children Linda (Greg) Bodker of Houghton Lake, MI, Susan (Bob Rothe) Meares of Prudenville, MI, Pattie (Tom) Hummer of Amherstburg, ON, Tom (Susan) Meares of Oxford, MI and Nancy (Craig) Tieppo of Waterford, MI; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Kay was preceded in death by; a sister Pat Bunce and a brother Eugene Felt

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  Kay's family would like to thank Winter Village of Frankenmuth and A&D Home Care and Hospice for their loving compassionate care.
