Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 28, 2023, at his home; age 84 years. Ken was born on September 6, 1939, in Saginaw, MI to the late Jacob and Gladys Treib. Ken honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was married to Jill Wellendorf on October 7, 1961; she survives him. He was a founder, along with his father and brothers of Central Metallizing, established in 1952 to the present day. Ken was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth. His greatest love was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and motorsports. Ken and Jill enjoyed vacationing in Florida.
Surviving besides his wife Jill are daughter Laurie (Paul) Schiefer of Frankenmuth, MI, son Kenneth Treib of Frankenmuth, MI, daughter Dana (Ralph) Leyva of Dallas, GA; grandchildren Paul Jacob (Ali) Schiefer, Alex (Brandy) Schiefer, Tyler Schiefer, Samantha Treib, Joshua Treib, Emma Leyva, Rowan Leyva; great grandchildren Avery, Clark, Elsie and Gwen Schiefer; sisters Virginia Thomas, Sally Ross, Dorothy (Roy) Woods; sisters-in-law Susie Treib and Barb Luplow.
Ken was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Jacqueline Treib and brothers Robert Treib, Thomas Treib, and David (Denia) Treib.
Funeral service will take place Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Genesee, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Patrick Ernst will officiate with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Ken's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth.
