Laura A. Maurer

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her home; age 94 years. Laura Kern was born on November 29, 1930, in Saginaw, MI to the late Harold and Mildred Kern. She was married to Donald M. Quellet; he predeceased her in 1974. She later married Ron Maurer at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and were together for 39 years; he survives her.

Laura was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. She volunteered in the Altar Guild and Sunday School for over 40 years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving besides her husband Ron are: Mike (Terry) Quellet of St. Charles, MI; Gary (Arlene) Quellet of Deland, FL; Don (Robin) Quellet of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Leann Quellet of Saginaw, MI; Lavonne (Ed) Karaba of Birch Run, MI; Laurie Reinert of Birch Run, MI; stepchildren Kathy (Jim) Hamner of Burton, MI and David Maurer of Dallas, TX; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Laura was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kara Quellet and Ashley Karaba, and two brothers, Harold "Don" Kern and Charles Kern.

Funeral Service will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. The Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Laura's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
