Loving aunt and sister passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Brian's House in Essexville; age 67 years. Laurie Schiefer was born on August 20, 1956 to the late Roy and Carol Schiefer.

Laurie graduated from the University of Michigan and was a proud Michigan alumna. She was an avid knitter, enjoyed cooking and baking, and adored her nephew and niece.

Surviving are: sister Martha (Fred) Valasek of Frankenmuth; nephew Trey (Amanda) Valasek and great-nephew and great-niece Spencer and Sadie stationed in Norfolk, VA with the U.S Navy; and niece Paige Valasek of Frankenmuth.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Laurie's family will receive visitors at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian's House in Essexville.
