Lawrence W. Barnes
Frankenmuth, MI formerly of New Martinsville, WV

Passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth; age 92 years. Lawrence was born on September 14, 1929 in New Martinsville, WV to the late J.B. and Gladys (Squires) Barnes. He was married to Mary Gaiser; she predeceased him on July 1, 1993.

Lawrence honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was later employed by Allied Chemical in Moundsville, WV as a lab analyst. He was a follower of the Methodist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters: Karen (Steve) Jennings and Alicia Jill (Dave) Hales; grandchildren Justin (Melissa) Hales, Allison (Josh) Hitsman, Kimberly (Joe) Soetaert, and Todd (Kirsten) Jennings; nine great grandchildren; sister-in-law Nancy Folger; and special niece Jeanne Barnes.

Besides his wife Mary and parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother J. Randall Barnes and nephews Michael Barnes and Terry Barnes.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of donor's choice.
