Leon O. Kern

Leon Oswald Kern went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 16, 2025; age 86 years. He was born to the late Oswald and Loretta Kern. Leon was baptized and confirmed at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and later graduated from Frankenmuth High School. He was a member of the first class to graduate from Frankenmuth High, the class of 1957. Leon worked at Universal Engineering as an Engineer for 43 years, became Assistant Chief Engineer, and later Chief Engineer of the Universal Product Line. While working at Universal Engineering, he was credited with 5 patents to his name.

Leon enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, and the cabin up north. He also enjoyed bowling and watching auto racing.

A loving sister Myrline Kern predeceased him. Surviving is a special cousin, Janet Kay Hecht.

Committal service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22nd at St. Lorenz Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
