Obituary

Linda Matuzak

Frankenmuth, MI

Linda Marie (Lentner) Matuzak was called to her Heavenly home on October 24, 2026 after a valiant three-year battle with late-stage ovarian cancer.

Linda was born June 29, 1945 to Norman and Lillian (Morgan) Lentner of Saginaw. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saginaw, MI. She graduated from Buena Vista High School (1963) and from Central Michigan University where she studied Art Education and Library/Media Science (1969).

Linda taught in the Buena Vista School District for 40 years and was active in the Cass River Players theatre group at the Fischer Hall in Frankenmuth. She enjoyed acting, designing sets, helping with costumes and programs, and directing plays. She retired from teaching in 2006.

Linda cherished the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. She especially treasured supporting her children and being present for her grandchildren’s activities, celebrating their accomplishments, and making memories along the way. Family gatherings, holidays, and time spent around the table brought her great joy, and she nourished those she loved with home-cooked meals, shared traditions, and the simple gift of being together. Linda also enjoyed her involvements with the local Women’s Club, Women Giving to Women, and PEO Chapter, playing bridge with friends, and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life.

Linda is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Matuzak, their two daughters, JoLynn (Steve) Clark, and Katie (Nathan) Kay, and two grandchildren, Liam and Alice Kay; three siblings: Jeanette Johnson, Norma Waters, and Kevin (Maryanne) Lentner; many cousins, nieces, and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; and exceptionally supportive friends.

Linda was cremated, according to her wishes. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate. Linda’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street. on Sunday, November 1st from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Women Giving to Women or St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
