Lori Gilmour
Frankenmuth, MI
It is with great sadness that the family of Lori Joan (Bullis) Gilmour announces her passing. Lori Gilmour, age 61, went to meet the Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Lori was born in Bay City, Michigan on October 15, 1962, but resided in Frankenmuth, Michigan most of her life.
Lori was a graduate of Frankenmuth High School and Delta College school of nursing with her RN degree in 1992. Lori's first job was working for her dad at Bavarian Bowl where she loved to teach bumper bowling to the kids. She also loved serving her bowling league teams. She devoted most of her life to nursing in local hospitals and doctors' offices where she delivered compassionate care to all her patients. If you were ever a patient of Lori's, you would remember her. Lori also had artistic skills and a ferocious imagination. She was always balancing many art projects, whether it was working with glass art or designing a table and chair set, her garage was her "den of imagination." Lori loved gardening, planting, caring, and watching things grow. Every spring and summer you could find Lori in her garden for several hours a day. She did not hesitate to get her hands in the dark, black earth. Lori loved people and caring and helping with anything she could for them. She loved meeting and talking with anybody whether just standing in line for something or just sitting and talking.
Lori is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Tim Gilmour, whom she married on November 30, 1985. Together they raised three remarkable young men: Tyler (Lora) Gilmour of Frankenmuth, Travis (partner Bree) Gilmour of Dallas, TX, and Jack (Jenna) Gilmour of Frankenmuth.
Also surviving are four grandchildren: Christian James, Eli, Emmett, and Eve; her mother Geraldine (Posluszny) Bullis of Bay City; three sisters: Terrie (Robert) Rosenburg, Cyndy (Randy) Evans, and Cathy (Bruce) VanBlarcom; and many nieces and nephews.
Lori was preceded in death by her father Jack H. Bullis and her brother Randy Bullis.
Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Brad Hubbard and Rev. Mark Brandt will officiate. Lori's family will receive visitors on Saturday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Lorenz Foundation.
