Went home with her Lord Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in Saginaw after a brief illness; age 98 years. Lorine Pickelmann was born on August 22, 1925 in Birch Run, MI to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Bauer) Pickelmann. She was married to Herman Zoellner on May 23, 1949; he predeceased her on August 20, 2010.
Lorine was employed as a Rosie the Riveter during WWII and after the war helped her husband Herman around the farm and raised their family. She was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church. She liked playing bingo and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Phil (Sharon) Zoellner of Frankenmuth, MI; Carol (Richard) Burk of Saginaw, MI; Kay (Steve) Raymond of Birch Run, MI; seven grandchildren: Kori Perez and Kari (Brandon) Schmitzer, Jason, Jerrod and Joshua Burk, Devan (fiancé Nick Bittner) and Derek (friend Stephanie) Raymond; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lorine was preceded in death by sister Anita Pickelmann and brother Edmund (Edna) Pickelmann.
Funeral service will take place Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1019 Covenant Dr., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Terry Balogh will officiate with burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Lorine's family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to King of Kings Lutheran Church.
