Margaret A. Grueber, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, who she dearly loved, on September 12th, 2021, at the age of 95. Margaret was born on June 19, 1926, in Frankenmuth to the late Herbert and Margaret Schluckebier. Margaret married Alvin Rodammer on June 19, 1946; he predeceased her. She later married Herbert Grueber on April 30, 1965; he predeceased her. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth and the St. Lorenz Missionary Guild. Margaret was well known for her constant warm smile, her kindness, gardening, and serving others with her amazing cooking and baking. There was always time for one more round of cards. She was employed by Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance until her retirement.
Surviving are two sons, Frederick (Erin) Rodammer and Mark (Rebecca) Grueber; a daughter Christine (Allen) Holcomb; and three stepdaughters, Judy (Richard) Weiss, Bethany Dankert, and Nila (Randall) Schiefer; a son-in-law Michael Thomas, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dorothy (Floyd) Schmitzer , Marie Howell, and Barbara (Bernie) O'Neill.
Awaiting her in heaven were her daughter, Rosemary Thomas; her son-in-law, Forrest Dankert; her granddaughter, Susan Barbeau, and sisters Ruth Rittmueller and Esther Ortner.
Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. The service will be livestreamed at stlorenz.org/stream . Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Margaret's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Frankenmuth, MI 48734 on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Lorenz Student Aid or Media Ministry Fund.
