Marie Barbara Creger, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Marie Bickel was born on May 20, 1927 to Otto and Agnes Bickel.

Marie was a lifelong resident of Frankenmuth. She was active in her church, St. Lorenz, serving on several committees including Sunday school teacher, missionary guild, bible studies. Marie was very active in her community, serving as chairwoman of Women's Club of which she was a founding member and recipient of the Edelweiss award at the age of 94, Bavarian Festival Committee, City Beautification, to name a few. Marie and her husband, Carl, loved to travel the world together and made many fond memories doing so. They traveled with the first group to visit sister city Gunzenhausen and made lifelong friendships there. Marie also enjoyed hobbies of gardening, baking, and needlework and continued to stitch baptism plaques until she was 95. She was blessed with many friendships over the past few years enjoying lunches, visits and sharing memories together.

Marie is survived by three daughters: Rebecca (Samuel) Magee of Chandler, AZ, Carla (Thomas) Sylvester of Frankenmuth, MI, and Tamara (David) Kroll of Caledonia, MI; eleven grandchildren: Clark and Chris Creger, Drew and Gina Creger, Darby and Frank Russell, Ian and Alexandra LeBlanc, Matthew and Yvonne Magee, Emily and Jesse McDonald, Sara and Les Yant, Rachel Sylvester, Charles and Elena Kroll, Andrew and Erin Kroll, and Jacquelyn and Scott Zomerlei; sixteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Frances Warnemuende.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Creger, her son and his wife Daniel and Mary Creger, and six siblings: Anita Hildner, Mildred Leidel, Edward Bickel, Wallace Bickel, Gertrude Maves, and Lenore Frank.

Funeral Service will take place on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Marie's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Media Ministry or Charity of Donor's Choice.
