Marie Lorine Schreiner

Frankenmuth, MI

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt was called to her heavenly home on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport at the age of 96 years. She was born on January 23, 1925 in Frankenmuth, MI to the late Berthold and Renata(Bernthal) Weiss. She was married to Roy Schreiner on December 5, 1948; he predeceased her on July 9, 2021. Marie was baptized on February 1, 1925 and confirmed on April 2, 1939 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Along with raising her children, she helped her husband run the family farm. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Jerry (Pam) Schreiner of Holt, Kathy (Doug) Snyder of Tecumseh, and Ron (Barb) Schreiner of Saginaw; grandchildren Erika (Rev. Tim) Grundmeier, Kelly (Nick) Sodt, Casey (Eddie) Magrys, Rev. Troy (Kelly) Schreiner,  Jacob (Tara) Zehnder; step-grandchildren Nikki (Jeff) Selleck, Jake Boyd,  great-grandchildren Emma, Ryan, Haddie and Lydia Grundmeier, Elliott, Beckett and Owen Sodt, Faith, Noah and Magdalena Schreiner, Justin Zehnder, and Otto Magrys, step-great-grandchildren, Cate and Elyse Selleck. Also, survived by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim Schreiner and Carl and Millie Schreiner and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Roy, Marie was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Julian Zehnder, her twin sister, Mildred Bender and sister, Dorothy Bauer, brothers-in-law Arnold Rogner, Ruben Bender, Erwin Bauer, sisters-in-law Mildred Rogner and Virginia Schreiner.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bavarian Comfort Care and Absolute Hospice for their loving care.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 11:00 a.m . at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Pastor Shawn Fenske will officiate. Cremation to follow. Marie's family will receive visitors on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Frankenmuth, MI 48734 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
