Marjorie A. Matheson

Clio, MI

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at her home; age 78 years. Marjorie McNeil was born on June 7, 1946 in Cass City, MI to the late Max and Mary (Fessler) McNeil. She was married to Jerry Matheson on September 21, 2018; he survives her.

Marjorie was a member of St. Charles and Helena Church in Clio. She was a former member of St. Norbert Church in Munger and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. She was employed by the State of Michigan as a clerical supervisor. After retirement she was employed by FP Horak. She enjoyed camping, bike riding, walking, campfires, and loved Mackinac Island, frequenting almost every summer.

Surviving besides her husband Jerry are: daughter Tammy (John) Hopp of Munger, MI; 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Nathan, and Brandan Hopp; 4 stepchildren, Kregg (Michele) Matheson, Kellie (Tom) Stawasz, Korie (Lance) Hamilton, all of Flushing, MI and Andrea Lawson and family of Clio, MI; 8 step-grandchildren, Tyler, Olivia, Jordynn, Delaney, Noah, Danny, Megan (Jay), and Zack (Savannah); 3 great step-grandchildren; sister Dory (Duane) Beach and sister-in-law Jan McNeil.

Marjorie was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Philip McNeil, Robert McNeil, and James McNeil.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles and Helena Church, 230 E. Vienna St. Clio, MI. Fr. Ken Coughlin will officiate with cremation to follow. Marjorie's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church or family wishes C/O Jerry Matheson.
