Mary L. (Parkhurst) Reindel

Frankenmuth, MI

Mary went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Covenant Glen Assisted Living; age 70 years. Mary was born August 5, 1953 in Cadillac, MI to the late Dr. Ted and Rosemary Parkhurst. She attended Marion Public Schools in Marion, MI and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Alma College, and her master's degree in reading from Saginaw Valley State University. She worked as a 5th grade classroom teacher and a reading teacher for Birch Run Public Schools for 40 years, retiring in 2014. She was a member of Frankenmuth United Methodist Church. Mary was recognized for her total commitment to educating the hundreds of children who lovingly called her, "Mrs. Reindel."

Surviving are her husband Dr. Bob Reindel of Frankenmuth, daughter Laura Reindel of Atlanta, Georgia, and son Robert Reindel (Darren McCaughan) of Brownsfield Charter Township, Michigan. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and spouses, Dr. James Reindel (Beth Bernthal-Reindel), Dr. William Reindel (Susan Reindel), and Dr. Fred Reindel (Terry Wild); sisters Gail Parkhurst and Penny (Thom) Robinson; brother Ted (Linda) Parkhurst; sister-in-law Julie Parkhurst (Bill Parkhurst – deceased); numerous nieces and nephews; close friends; and her favorite dogs Cooper, Georgia, Alfie, and Ellie.

Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. noon at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, 346 Vates St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Ryan Wenburg will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Mary's family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Casual attire requested. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, Best Friends Animal Society, or a charity of their choice.
