 Mildred Bickel

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Winter Village; age 100 years. Mildred was born on February 1, 1926 to the late Edwin and Hulda Keinath. She was married to William Bickel on July 3, 1948; he predeceased her on September 7, 1987. Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. She worked at List Elementary School as a cook from 1971-1988. Mildred enjoyed gardening, and playing Eucher with her friends and family, but especially with her grandchildren.

Surviving are 3 sons and 2 daughters, James Bickel of Millington, MI, Dale (Connie) Bickel of Lake, MI, Wayne (Sandy) Bickel of Vassar, MI, Nancy (David) Herbolsheimer of Reese, MI, and Cynthia Huber of Millington; grandchildren Carol (Matt) Laux, Bill (Julie) Bickel, Shay (Charlie Hull) Bickel, Tori Bickel, Sage (David) Newman, Wayne (Sheri) Bickel, Jeremy (Lynda) Bickel, Trevor (Wendy) Bickel, Jenni (Seth) Stuart, Michael (Kyla) Herbolsheimer, Becki (Nick) Buetow, Christina (Jason) Sullivan, and Anthony (Shannon) Huber; great grandchildren Mikayla, Kelly, Jenna, Jacob, Nolan, Logan, Alex, Jackson, Raegan, Hadley, Elli, Isaac, Levi, Collin, Ayden, Bennett, and Brady; special nieces and nephews Gary, Karen, Mark, and Janet.

Mildred was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Elaine Bickel; son-in-law John Huber; brother Norbert Keinath, and sister Doris Wirtz

Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Mildred’s family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Lorenz cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and A & D Hospice.
