Was called to her heavenly home Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Covenant Glen - Frankenmuth; age 95 years. Millie was born on January 23, 1925, in Frankenmuth, MI. She was married to Ruben Bender on December 5, 1948; he predeceased her on January 18, 2014. Along with raising her children, she helped her husband run the family farm. Millie belonged to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and was a member of LWML and the Blanket Making group. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are children: Ann (Jerry) Browning, Sally (Jim) Walker, Jim (Mary) Bender, David (Teri) Bender, and Peter (Julie) Bender; grandchildren Ethan Browning (fiancé Trish Tillman), Andrew (Maureen) Bender, Elizabeth (Nick) Kitchen, Amanda (Jesus) Grafilo, Stephen (Jennifer) Bender, Matthew (Laura), Evan, Owen, and Lillian Bender; great-grandchildren Declan and Kellan Bender, Maya and Miguel Grafilo, Charles, Henry and Amelia Bender; one sister Marie (Roy) Schreiner; sisters-in-law Kathleen Weber, Betty Bender and Ellen Bender, brother-in-law Erwin Bauer, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Ruben, Millie was preceded in death by one sister Dorothy Bauer; brothers-in-law Eugene (Heidie) Bender, Edmar (Mildred) Bender, Henry Bender, Marcus Bender, Lester (Eleanor) Bender, and Ruben Weber.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 29, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Millie's family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Media Ministry, Wellspring Lutheran Services Hospice, or Valley Lutheran High School Growing Campaign.
