 Miriam A. Ehlert

Frankenmuth, MI

Went home with her Lord Monday, July 20, 2026, at Covenant Cooper; 81 years. Miriam Baganz was born on November 1, 1944, in Sturgeon Bay, WI to the late Rev. Theophil and Vivian Baganz. She was married to Rev. Joel Ehlert on July 10, 1965 by her father at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

Miriam loved the Frankenmuth community. She was employed by the Frankenmuth School District for several years before becoming a realtor, retiring from Century 21 Realty. She enjoyed exercising, yoga, shopping, traveling, and socializing with her many friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Miriam’s loyalty and compassion to family and dear friends was evident to all.

Surviving besides her husband Rev. Joel are: a daughter Jennifer (Mike) Walton of Mt. Pleasant, granddaughter Isabel Walton of Mt. Pleasant, sister Rachel John of Elgin IL, brother Mark (Beth) Baganz, brother Peter (Allison) Baganz, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Miriam was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Ehlert, her brothers Tim and James Baganz, and her brother-in-law Hermann John and a niece Brittany Baganz.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. The Rev. Joel Eden will officiate. Miriam’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Wellspring Lutheran Services – Frankenmuth Campus, St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, or Pamela Ehlert Memorial Scholarship.
