Myron B. Schiefer

Vassar, MI

Went home with his Lord on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Wellspring of Frankenmuth after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons Disease; age 88 years. Myron was born on April 2, 1935 in Vassar, MI to the late Bernhard and Ottilie Schiefer. He was married to Ruth Bublitz on August 13, 1960 in Munger, MI, she survives him. He honorably served in the U.S. Army. Myron was a lifelong Farmer, who worked earlier in his life for the City of Frankenmuth. He was a lifelong member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church where he served on the finance committee. Myron enjoyed bowling, polka dancing and wintering in Florida. He loved spending time with his family and working on the farm.

Surviving besides his wife Ruth are three sons and one daughter, Ron Schiefer of Millington, MI, Leon (Stacy) Schiefer of Vassar, MI, Terry (Deb) Schiefer of Vassar, MI, Donna (Jim) Janson of Frankenmuth; ten grandchildren Jamie (Mason) Gorleski, Aaron (fiance' Michelle Cha) Schiefer, Travis (Amy) Schiefer, Jennifer Estrada, Ashley (Bryan) Janick, Jeremy (Hilary) Schiefer, Allison (Justin) Muntz, Kaitlyn (Jason) Enser, Sarah (Nick) Szczepanski, Emily (Denver) Bonkowski; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister Delores Reinert and many nieces and nephews.

Myron was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Sheryl Schiefer.

Myron's family would like to thank Wellspring of Frankenmuth and Wellspring Hospice for their wonderful care of Myron for the last few years.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. Frankenmuth, MI. Myron's family will receive visitors at the church from 9:00 a.m until the time of service. In leiu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
