Norman J. Bergdolt

Vassar, MI

Went to be with the Lord, Wednesday May 2, 2018, age 82 years.  Norman was born on November 6, 1935, in Vassar, MI to the late Michael and Florence Bergdolt. Norm was happily married to Bonnie for 53 years, they married at Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She survives him. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong farmer at the family homestead. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church where he was part of the male choir. Norm was also a member of Farm Bureau and a Trustee for Tuscola Township. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving besides his wife are; 5 children Debra (Michael) Marzluft of Burt, MI, Bethany (Scott) McFarland of Berrien Springs, MI, Deanna (Greg) Scherpereel of South Bend, IN, Eric (Amy) Bergdolt of Vassar, MI, Virginia (Eric) Sowatsky of Saginaw, MI.; 21 grandchildren; 1 brother, Wilmar (Joan) Bergdolt of Arizona; 3 sisters, Dorothy Weber of Vassar, MI, Leonore Poellet of Frankenmuth, MI, Ruth Bergdolt of Richville, MI; 4 sisters-in-law, Elaine Maurer of Vassar, MI, Carol Bergdolt of Frankenmuth, MI, Lois Bergdolt of East Dundee, IL, and Lois (Randy) Donahue of Charlotte, MI; a brother-in-law Timothy (Marian) Ludlum of Saginaw, MI and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael Bergdolt; his 2 sisters; Erna Hutchinson and Lorna Weiss; 3 brothers, Arnold Maurer, Paul Bergdolt and Raymond Bergdolt; and 4 brothers-in-law; Al Weber, William Hutchinson, Elmer Weiss, Clinton Poellet.

Funeral services will take place on Monday May 7, 2018, at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., Frankenmuth, Michigan and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Rev. Mark Brandt will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Cemetery.  Norm's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Male Choir, St Lorenz Stephens Ministry or a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
