Orville Kenneth Fischer

Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Orville was born February 19, 1932 in Saginaw, MI to the late Clarence and Iola (Seder) Fischer. He was baptized in March 1932, his sponsors were Cecil Seder and Linda Roedel. He was confirmed by the Rev. Lawson Knight at Redeemer Lutheran Church Saginaw on March 25, 1945 his confirmation verse was Psalm 86:11. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School… class of 1949. Orville served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in France as a cryptographer from 1951-1953. Orville married Joyce Asmus at Redeemer Lutheran Church on January 22, 1955, enjoying 65 years of marriage. They were blessed with 3 children Jeffery (Dawn) Fischer, Cynthia (Robert) Fischer, Scott (Amy) Fischer and 4 grandchildren Jamie (Jordan) Reinert, Brooke (Matt) Spiekerman, Ian Fischer, and Devin Fischer.

Orville worked at AM International Business Machines in sales and service for 36 years and retired in 1989. He was also a member of the MHSAA as a registered high school basketball and football official for 20 years from 1969-1989. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen's League, and the American Legion Post 150.

Orville also leaves a sister Carol (Richard) Rosa, a niece Cheryl (Larry) Meyer, and a nephew Michael (Theresa) Rosa.

The family would also like to thank the staff of Medilodge and Grace Hospice for their compassionate care, and to Orville's guardian angel Renee whose loving kindness and friendship to him and his family will always be treasured.

Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate. Orville's family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In leu of flowers please consider memorials to St. Lorenz Media Ministry or CrossRoads Counseling Ministries.
