Peter Navarre Sr.

Went home with his Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Ascension St. Mary's; age 79 years.  Peter was born on December 28, 1941 in Bay City, MI to the late John and Kathleen Navarre. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force. Peter married Carolyn Laking on December 31, 1995; she survives him. He worked at GM as plant security. Peter also worked in Essexville, MI as a police officer. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, he was an avid biker and qualified for the Olympics. Peter was an expert marksman, he helped others become more proficient shooters. He also enjoyed snorkeling and deep-sea diving.

Surviving besides his wife Carolyn are children Peter Navarre Jr., Robert (Penny) Navarre, David (Shannon) Navarre, Mikel (Denise) Navarre, Sara Navarre; stepchild Julie Ann Schnell; grandchildren Peter III, Robert, Danielle (Mike), Alyssa, Tylor, Tabatha, Daphne, and Paget; great grandchildren Ethan and Noah; step grandchildren Allison and Taylor Schnell; brothers and sisters John Navarre Jr., Joseph (Gerry) Navarre, Mary Navarre; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Beverly Jacobs, Duane (Diane) Laking, Susanne (David) Kuhl and special nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by 1 sister Kathleen "Keek" Navarre; 2 step children Stephen C. Schnell and Craig S. Fountain.

The memorial service that was delayed because of COVID 19 restrictions will take place on Monday August 2 ^nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 3455 S. Van Buren Road, Richville, Michigan. Peter's family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation has taken place.
