Ralph A. List

Frankenmuth, MI

Went to his heavenly home on Friday, November 8 , 2019 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth, MI; age 102 years.  Ralph was born on June 9, 1917 to the late Emil and Caroline (Hubinger) List. He was baptized on June 30, 1917 and confirmed on April 13, 1930 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Ralph married Ruth P. List on April 19, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church, Bay City.  Ruth predeceased him on April 18, 1975.  On April 21, 1979, he married Ruth (Bickel) Larson.  Ralph was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, receiving the Bronze Star and attaining the rank of Captain.  He worked for the Equitable Life Assurance Society, retiring after 34 years of service.  Ralph was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church having had the privilege of serving this Lord on the Board of Elders, Board of Trustees, and as a Deacon.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 150, served on the City's Board of Review for 30 years, and a member of the Charter committee of the City of Frankenmuth.  He loved his Savior, his family , and his country.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and attending his grandchildren's sporting and music events.  Having lived in Frankenmuth 102 years he could not help but marvel at the change those years brought to the community he loved.

Surviving besides his wife Ruth are: children Jean (Gary) Peters, Richard (Karen) List, Frank (Vicky) List, Christine (Robert) Taylor, Kathleen (Robertson) Walls; grandchildren Kellie (Dodson) Oliver, Diane (Travis) Haney, Kathleen (Ryan) Conzelmann, Thomas (Amy) Johnson, Mark (Kathryn) Peters, Terese (David) Cook, Aaron (April) List, Jared (Jessica) List, Robert Taylor, Benjamin (Kelley) Taylor, Meghan Walls, Victoria (Andrew) Spivey; 23 great grandchildren; sisters Marie List, Lillian Bickel and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Ralph was preceded in death by: brother Harold and Irma List; sister Ellen and Herman Schellhas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Waldemar Bickel, Ervin and Florence Uhlmann, Erwin and Doris List, Louis and Lucille List, Richard and Eunice List, and Fred and Claire List.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church with burial between services in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.  Ralph's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the prayer service.
