Randall L. Scharrer

Birch Run, MI

Went home to his Lord unexpectedly Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home; age 66 years. Randy was born on December 18, 1954 in Saginaw, MI to the late Edgar and Alice Scharrer.

Randy was employed as an engineer at General Motors until his retirement in 2010. He was a devoted Christian of Lutheran faith and a member of the Frankenmuth Conservation Club. Randy loved people and socializing with his friends and family. He was also a huge University of Michigan sports fan.

Surviving are two sons Brett (Christina) Scharrer of Birch Run and Garret (Katrina) Scharrer of Spring Lake; beloved grandchildren Corbin, Olive, and June Scharrer; one brother Jonathan (Cheryl) Scharrer and their sons Casey and Sawyer Scharrer; one sister Vera (Dennis) Bamberg and their children Carmen, Matthew, and Suzy and their families; special close friends Julie (Paul) Stuart and their sons Shawn and David; and many more close family members and friends.

Besides his parents Randy was preceded in death by one grandson Dustin and his brother Gregory Scharrer.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8220 E Holland Rd, Saginaw, MI 48601. The service will be broadcast live on the Cederberg Funeral Home Facebook Page. After the service it will be available on the Cederberg Funeral Home Website. Pastor Loest will officiate, with burial to follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Frankenmuth. Randy's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to King of Kings Lutheran Church of Frankenmuth or Immanuel Lutheran Church of Frankentrost.
