Randy Gilbert

Bridgeport, MI

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at his home; age 70 years. Randy was born on September 2, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William and Eleanor Gilbert. He was married to Pauline Cypher on June 3, 1978; she survives him. Randy was employed at USF Holland as a driver for 42 years until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport and volunteered as a bus driver for church for 40 years. Randy enjoyed tinkering in his garage and boating with his family. Randy greatly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife Pauline are three children Belle (Jamie) Bickel of Union, ME, Jessica (Rob) Scott of Saginaw, MI, William Craig (Sarah) Gilbert of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren Brookelynn, Jayse, Kaedyn, Violet, and Jaksen Bickel, Zachery, Addison, and Henry Scott, Gracelyn, Owen and Eden Gilbert; sister Sheila (Al) Weiss of Frankenmuth, MI, and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by brother Gary Gilbert.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, 2400 King Rd. Saginaw, MI  48601. Pastor JD Howell and Pastor R.B. Ouellette will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Randy's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
