Rena Louise Eischer-Babcock

Frankenmuth, MI

Our strong willed, humorous, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to her Eternal Home on July 13, 2022; age 90 years.

Rena Louise Parlberg was born on August 29, 1931 to the late Alice and Edward Parlberg, in Birch Run, MI. She married Ralph W. Eischer September 22, 1951 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth, MI. Ralph predeceased her in 1994. She then married Donald Babcock on January 12, 2002. He predeceased her in 2020.

Rena was employed at Universal Engineering and at Zehnder's of Frankenmuth where she waitressed for nearly 30 years. She was a hard worker, a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and watching sports. Rena was a longtime member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church

Surviving her are her children: Judith Eischer-Kennedy of Frankenmuth, Larry (Stephanie) Eischer of Canadian Lakes, MI, and Lyle (Allyson) Eischer of Frankenmuth, seven grandchildren Ryan (Grace) Eischer, Lauren Eischer, Evan Eischer, Allison Eischer, Autumn Eischer, Ethan (Jillian) Eischer, and Sydney Trombley (Ross); nine great grandchildren; brothers Ralph Parlberg of Frankenmuth and Raymond (Arlene) Parlberg of Birch Run, MI; many nieces and nephews; step-son Scott (Vickie) Babcock of Spring Lake, MI; and brother-in-law Gary (Diane) Ranke of Birch Run, MI.

Rena was preceded in death by her brother Roy W. (Sue) Parlberg; sister Ruth (Robert) Thompson; brother-in-law Martin Eischer; sisters-in-law Marjorie Parlberg, Melna Mossner, Lenore Parlberg; and great nephew Jordan Thompson.

Private family services will take place. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church Media Ministry.
