Richard Carlson

Bridgeport, MI

Passed away peacefully Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Bavarian Comfort Care, Bridgeport; age 91 years. Richard was born on May 10, 1935 in Wheeler, MI, to the late Raymond and Theresa Carlson. He was married to Lucille Corl on August 27, 1954. She predeceased him on February 10, 2023. Dick worked at Buick Motor Company as a research Engineer, retiring after 31 years. He was a member of Frankenmuth United Methodist Church. He enjoyed tinkering on John Deere tractors. Dick and his wife Lucille enjoyed traveling and square dancing, they spent their later years wintering in Texas in the Rockport Area. He also had a passion for helping others. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are 4 children: Linda (John) Hamilton - Gladwin, MI, Susan Carlson - Covington, Virginia, Rick (Vicki Clark) Carlson - Bay City, MI, Carol (Scott) Couitcher - Saginaw, MI; 4 grandchildren: Kristopher (Jordan) Hamilton - McComb, Ohio, Jeremy (Amy) Hamilton - Lancaster, California, Amanda (Adam) Rochowiak - Madison, Alabama, April (Orlandus) Leonard - Saginaw, MI; 10 great grandchildren: Abigail and Katelyn Hamilton, Lillian Hamilton, Peyton, Hattie and Eleanor Rochowiak, Elijah Jernigan, Alexianna, Aalayah, and Alyssa Leonard; 1 great-great granddaughter Dianne Roszatycki, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Dianne Carlson.

Memorial Service will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, especially the 'Bring Light' campaign.
