Richard D. "Dick" Moreau

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away Wednesday, January 03, 2018, at Wellspring Lutheran Services after a battle with Parkinson's disease; age 83 years.  Richard was born on July 10, 1934, in Detroit, MI to the late Frank and Evelyn Moreau.   He was married to Sylvia Scoon on September 21, 1963; she predeceased him on June 11, 2015.

Richard was a carpenter and owned Dick Moreau Custom Builders.  He was a member of Frankenmuth United Methodist Church and the Frankenmuth Lions Club, and was a Scout Master for the Frankenmuth Boy Scouts.  He also enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races.

Richard is survived by two daughters and three sons: Tina (Bob Carroll) Parks of Saginaw, MI, Patti (Doug) Lewis-Born of Bay City, MI, Rick (Linda) Moreau of Vassar, MI, Scott Moreau of Frankenmuth, MI and Dan Moreau of Saginaw, MI; eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, three sisters Barb Stamper, Marilyn Blanc, Karen (Jim) Brooks, sister-in-law Avis Leach and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Richard was predeceased by son-in-law Tom Parks, daughter-in-law Lori Moreau, and granddaughter Misty Parks.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., Frankenmuth, Michigan.  Pastor Mark Karls will officiate with cremation to follow.  Dick's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Frankenmuth United Methodist Church or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
