Richard A. Nash
Richard A. Nash passed away on Tuesday, December 14 th , 2021 at the age of 96. He peacefully passed away at his home in Frankenmuth, Michigan, with family by his side.
Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 26 th , 1925. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Richard graduated from Wayne State University in 1950. Later he attended the University of Michigan School of Business. His career spanned 36 years as a civil servant with the State of Michigan, Department of Labor. He started as a statistician and systems analyst. He retired as the Deputy Director of the Michigan Employment Security Commission.
When younger, Richard's hobbies included raising Christmas trees in Michigan, walking his hobby farm with his rescue dog, panning for gold in northern Ontario, as well as the study of political science history.
Preceded in death is Richard's son Kenneth G. (Ken) Nash and son in law Joachim (Joe) Oehrlein. Surviving Richard are his wife of 73 years Estelle (Bober), daughter Linda (Oehrlein), son Richard P. (Rick), daughters in law Carol (Lloyd: Rick's wife) and Mary (Vigiletti: Ken's wife), and grandson Paul (Ken and Mary's son).
Respecting Richard's wishes, there will be a private family burial at a later date. His remains are to be interred at Roselawn Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan. Anyone wishing to pay their respects to Richard is encouraged to do so by donating to the Humane Society of Saginaw County https://humanesocietyofsaginawcounty.org/Donations or planting a tree in his memory in the spring.
