Richard D. Peters

Frankenmuth, MI

Went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Wellspring of Frankenmuth; age 92 years. Richard was born on September 18, 1932 in Charlotte, MI to the late Charles and Helen Peters. He was married to Marcella McCormack on August 31, 1957; she survives him.

Dick honorably served in the U.S Army. He was employed by Copco Paper Company of Saginaw until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, basketball, softball, euchre, square dancing, bingo, and puzzles. He was a member of the American Legion Post 150 and was active in the Bavarian Festival and Frankenmuth Auto Fest.

Surviving besides his wife Marcella are: two daughters, Linda Pomaville of Saginaw, MI and Sheri (Richard) Bird of Bay City, MI; bonus daughter Kate Tesdell; grandchildren, Michael (Marissa) Pomaville, Daniel Bird, David (Chelsea) Bird and Amanda Bird; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Leon, Lilah, Remington, Emily, Sawyer, Hudson, Renley, Freyja, and Millie; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty (Robert) Brandon and Sandra Peters.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, 346 Vates St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Ryan Wenburg will officiate. Dick's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Frankenmuth, on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Legion Post 150 or Aleda Lutz VA Medical Center.
