Obituary

Ronald Bronner

Frankenmuth, MI

Went to be with his Lord Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Wellspring Lutheran Home, Frankenmuth; age 91 years. Ronald was born on February 5, 1932 in Frankenmuth, Michigan to the late William and Charlotte (Loesel) Bronner. He was confirmed at St. Lorenz in 1946 and earned his Eagle Scout Award in 1947. Ron graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1950 where he was the Drum Major of the Marching Band. He earned an Associates Degree in Building Construction Technology in 1954 from Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ron honorably served in the US Army from 1954-1956. Ron was married to Anne Heldt on December 28, 1965; she predeceased him on March 1, 2023. As a young man Ron was an avid downhill skier. He was the owner of Wm Bronner and Son Contractors. Many area buildings were built by Ron and his crew.  Churches were his pride and joy.  Some include St. Paul Millington, St. Michael Richville, St. John's, Blessed Trinity, Frankenmuth United Methodist, Trinity in Reese, and many, many more. Ron was a member of the Noon Rotary, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow award.

He was also a member of the American Legion, served on many boards at St. Lorenz throughout the years and he attended Wednesday morning Bible study at St. Lorenz for many years. Ron was also a dedicated blood donor.

You could recognize him with his bucket hat and pipe, but he will always be remembered by his love for his family and his faith.

Surviving are: two sons Matt (Jill) Bronner of Frankenmuth and Mickey Bronner of Frankenmuth; daughter Mina (Dave) Kiel of Romeo, MI; seven grandchildren: Kyle, Sydney, Grant, Tessa, Samuel, Abigail, and Gabriel; sister Charlotte Gilmour; brother-in-law Carl (Jeanene) Heldt III of Evansville, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife Anne of 57 years, Ron was preceded in death by his sister Elaine (Philip) Schultz, brother-in-law William ("Slim") Gilmour, nephew Tom Schultz, and niece Christine Schultz.

Funeral services will take place on Monday April 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Ron's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N.
