Ronald Hegenauer

Ronald William Hegenauer, our beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 8 ^th . Ron was born in Frankenmuth, Michigan on April 6, 1942 to the late Wilmar and Norma (Woelzlein) Hegenauer. Ron married Shirley Stark on August 8, 1980 and enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Together they had a son, Ryan (Shannon) Hegenauer. After graduation from Frankenmuth High School in 1960, Ron continued the family farm until his retirement. During his farming career Ron was very involved with the dairy industry and enjoyed working with many of other local dairy farmers. Over the years Ron enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, snowmobiling, playing cards, fishing, gardening, and raising animals. Together, Ron and Shirley also enjoyed traveling and spending time together with their friends. Ron's love for growing crops never ceased and even after his health caused him to quit growing a large garden, he continued to have several little "gardens" scattered around the farm.

Surviving Ron is his sister, Charlotte Farner of Gaylord, MI and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by 2 of his sisters, Karen Hegenauer and Luann Hegenauer.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, November 13, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate with cremation to follow. Ron's family will receive visitors on Thursday at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth 590 N. Franklin St. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
