Ronald J. Weiss

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, April 26, 2024 at his daughter's home in Farmington after a courageous battle with cancer; age 68 years. Ron (Ronnie) was born in Saginaw, MI on October 5, 1955 to the late Raymond E Weiss and Lorine (Bronner) Weiss. He graduated from Frankenmuth High School class of 1973. He was previously married to Lori Weiss.

Ronnie owned and operated Edelweiss Restaurant until its closing and continued to deliver dairy to local establishments until his retirement. He enjoyed many of Frankenmuth's festivals, loved golfing and gardening, never lost a game of euchre at 9.9, and was an avid MSU and Detroit sports fan. Ever the character, Ronnie always held a captive audience while sharing stories from his many adventures and his "nine lives." He was a vibrant soul that will be missed by many.

Surviving are: daughter Lauren (Nicholas) Plinka of Farmington, MI; brother Ken (Jane) of Montgomery, TX; sisters Mary (Joe) Conger of Frisco, TX and Christine (Jerry) Yoba of Frankenmuth; brother Eric (Michelle) of Tampa, FL; and many nieces, nephews, close friends and his beloved dog JP.

Ron was preceded in death by brother Chip Weiss and stepmother Roberta "Birdie" (Veitengruber) Weiss.

Memorial Service will take place on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Cremation has taken place. Ron's family will receive visitors on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hidden Harvest of Saginaw. A celebration of life will be hosted immediately following the service at Tiffany's until 4:00 p.m.
