Ronald
Zwerk
Aug 5, 1944 — Jan 17, 2023
Ronald C. Zwerk
Frankenmuth, MI
Went home to be with his Savior Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Covenant Medical Center; age 78 years. Ronald entered this world on August 5, 1944 to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Engel) Zwerk in Saginaw, MI, the eldest of six children. He was married to Susanne "Susie" Rogner on August 27, 1966. She survives him.
Ronald was a graduate of Reese High School, player on the state champion football team, and member of the Lancer Car Club. He was confirmed at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville and an active member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. Ron retired from lifelong farming on the family homestead in Reese at the age of 70 and began container pot gardening, planting enough cherry tomatoes to feed Saginaw County! Earlier he worked at Universal Engineering and Galsterer Motor Sales where he developed ongoing friendships. Among his heroes were John Wayne, Audie Murphy, and World War II soldiers including his father-in-law, Howard Rogner. Other loves in his life were his 1960 Chevy Impala, which he turned into a muscle car, and his rescued pets. His most precious times were those spent sharing in the lives of his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife Susie are: children, Rebecca (Ricky) Pavlik of Bay City and Matthew (EeShel) Zwerk of Munger who were all extremely helpful as he battled health issues during the past five years. Five grandchildren: Erin Murdoch; Ethan, Christian, Ezmae, and Landon Zwerk; one great-grandson Henry Schwartz; brothers and sisters Sharen Roeser, Joy (Dave) Koch, Charles (Deborah) Zwerk; close brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jim (Cindy) Rogner, Bill (Sue) Rogner, Fred (Diane) Rogner; many nieces and nephews; and his cherished cat, Bubba.
Ronald was preceded in death by siblings, Karen Jaffke and Bob Zwerk; brothers-in-law, Ron Roeser and Tom Jaffke.
