Went to her Heavenly home Friday, November 8, 2019 at her home at Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth, age 89 years. Rosalie Mae Schmitt was born on February 4, 1930 in Frankenmuth, MI to the late Dr. George and Rosina Katherina (Weber) Schmitt. She married Harry Boesnecker on July 1, 1951; he predeceased her on October 19, 2012. Rosalie was a lifetime member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1948, went to beauty school in Detroit, and opened up Rosie's Beauty Salon. She ran Rosie's Beauty Salon in the back of Dr. Schmitt's dentist office on Main Street, now the Marv Herzog Hotel. Rosalie was a member of the St. Lorenz Confirmation Class of 1944. Rosalie was an accomplished pianist and served with Harry on various committees in the City, member of the Legion Auxiliary, wrote two cookbooks for the Frankenmuth Historical Museum, and was mother and grandmother to many neighborhood children.
Surviving are: 2 sons and 3 daughters: Keith Boesnecker, Ken Boesnecker, Candice (Amir) Fayaz, Constance Johnson, and Carmela (Charles) Stuart; 2 grandchildren Stuart Aldrich and Trisha Aldrich; 6 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was preceded in death by: 2 sisters and 4 brothers, Reinhold, Irma, Nestor, Charlotte, Walter and Arno; sister-in-Law Margretta Conzelmann; a granddaughter Jillian Boesnecker; a daughter-in-law Vickie Boesnecker; a niece Patricia Boesenecker Cushing as will as her longtime friend from 2 nd grade Marie Fechter.
Memorial services will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, MI. Rev. Mark D. Brandt will officiate with private burial services in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Rosalie's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials St. Lorenz Lutheran School or Covenant VNA Hospice.
