Rosemary Sterling

Rosemary Sterling passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. She was born on September 15, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Ruth (Hickey) and Watson Timmons.

Rosemary graduated from Owendale-Gagetown High School in 1963 and attended Michigan State University for one year. During a summer break from college, she met and married the love of her life, Gary Sterling, on September 26, 1964. Gary preceded her in death in August 2025.

Rosemary’s primary role was that of a devoted homemaker, though she also worked as a nurse’s aide and as a server. She enjoyed attending car shows with Gary and was a gifted crafter who loved knitting, crocheting, and sewing beautiful quilts for family and friends. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Monica (Kris) Worley of Birch Run; grandchildren, Nicholas Worley, Celeste Worley (Andrew Zuhl), and Justine Worley; her brother, Charles (Margaret) Timmons; her sister-in-law, Debbie Dextrom; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to her husband, Gary, Rosemary was preceded in death by her sons, Gary II and Gregory Sterling; her brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Charlene Timmons; and her brothers-in-law, Willis (Karen) Sterling and Mitch Sterling.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Frankenmuth Athletics.
