Passed away unexpectedly with family by his side Sunday October 21, 2018; 69 years. Roy Lowell was born on October 23, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ike and Golda Lowell. He was married to Sherry on December 14, 1968; she survives him. Roy served an apprenticeship and became a toolmaker journeyman at General Motors Corp., retiring after 32 years. Roy was a licensed builder since 1972. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University. Roy earned his Masters of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University. He was the national advisor for the United States Department of Labor, the Program Coordinator for Baker College in Flint, MI, and the Assistant Dean at Gillette College for the Career & Technical Programs. Roy was a life member of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #205 Vienna, Clio, MI and Gillette Lodge #28 Gillette, WY. He was President of the Powder River Shrine Club, Kalif Shrine. Worthy Patron of Gentian Chapter #23 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Vienna Chapter #283.
Surviving besides his wife, Sherry, are: 1 son Bret (Dawn) Lowell of Aurora, CO, 1 daughter Landi Lowell of Gillette, WY, 3 grandchildren; Lance Lowell, Bradley Halloran, and Ella Halloran, brothers and sisters; Joanne (William JR) Stroope, Charlene Zeiter, Sue (James) Kettler, Don Lowell, Jim Lowell, Linda Torres, Sharon Kesten and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street. Roy's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children, in Roy's name.
