Roy Otto Schreiner

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle was called to his heavenly home on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport at the age of 94 years. He was born on November 1, 1926 in Frankenmuth, MI to the late Rudolph and Lydia (Schluckebier) Schreiner. Roy was baptized on November 14, 1926 and confirmed on April 6, 1941 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. He was married to Marie Weiss on December 5, 1948. She survives him. Roy served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant from 1945-1947.

Roy farmed his entire life, in Hemlock from 1948-1957 and then at the homestead farm in Frankenmuth until retirement.

Surviving besides his wife Marie are children Jerry (Pam) Schreiner of Holt, Kathy (Doug) Snyder of Tecumseh, and Ron (Barb) Schreiner of Saginaw; grandchildren Erika (Rev. Tim) Grundmeier, Kelly (Nick) Sodt, Casey (Eddie) Magrys, Rev. Troy (Kelly) Schreiner, Jacob (Tara) Zehnder; step-grandchildren Nikki (Jeff) Selleck, Jake Boyd; great-grandchildren Emma, Ryan, Haddie, and Lydia Grundmeier, Elliott, Beckett and Owen Sodt, Faith, Noah and Magdalena Schreiner, Justin Zehnder, and Otto Magrys; step-great-grandchildren Cate and Elyse Selleck; brothers and sister-in-law Jim and Carl and Millie Schreiner, and many nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Julian Zehnder, one sister Mildred Rogner; brothers-in-law Arnold Rogner, Ruben Bender, Erwin Bauer; sisters-in-law Mildred Bender, Dorothy Bauer, and Virginia Schreiner.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Cremation to follow. Roy's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Monday July 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Victory Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, Florida where grandson Troy is Pastor, or Worship Anew, Lutheran Ministries Media.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bavarian Comfort Care and Absolute Hospice for their loving care.
