Ruth Klute

Ruth E. Klute passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Covenant Glen, Frankenmuth, MI at the age of 101. She was born on June 23, 1921 in Gresham, Nebraska to Hugo and Louise Degner and grew up near Hampton, Nebraska. She later worked as a stenographer for Civil Service in Chicago, IL, before marrying Wilbert (Jack) Klute on April 1, 1945. Together they farmed near Lewisville, MN until 1980 when they retired to Fairmont, MN. In the fall of 2018, she moved to Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth, MI. Her loves were faith, family, friends, and music.

Ruth is survived by her children Thomas Klute, Minneapolis, MN, Linda (Burrell) Kolonich Lansing, MI, Susan Klute, Mankato, MN, and Lisa (Chuck) Anderson, Frankenmuth, MI; grandchildren Sarah (David) Parker, Katie (Kyle) Sanborn; great- grandchildren Nicklas Parker, Emma Parker, and Madelyn Sanborn; brother-in-law Robert M. Nelson, sisters-in-law Dorothy Klute and Cordelia Degner.

Besides her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Hugo Degner and Mrs. Louise Degner; siblings Martin (Clara), Paul (Arlene) Albert (Dorothy), Waldemar (Anita), Kurt, Hans, and Lorenz (Jeanette) Degner, Margaret Nelson; brothers-in-law LaVern (Doris) Edgar, Jerry (Welma), Elmer (Francis) Klute and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. Burial will take place at a later date in Fairmont, MN. Ruth's family will receive visitors at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
