Apr 18, 1929 — Apr 18, 2020
Ruth J. Norczyk
Frankenmuth, MI
Ruth Norczyk succumbed in body to the Covid-19 virus on her 91 st birthday, April 18, 2020, at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Ruth Janet Snure was born April 18, 1929, to Robert and Grace Snure of Joliet, Illinois. She graduated Joliet Junior College, Northwestern University (B.S. Biology), and Case Western Reserve University (Masters of Nursing). Ruth taught nursing at Emory University, Michigan State, and Saginaw Valley State University.
Ruth met and married Edward J. Norczyk (1929-2008) in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1961. They resided in Bridgeport before moving to Frankenmuth in 1968. Together, they had three children: Susan (1962-2013); Deborah (1964-1970); and David (1966-present).
Ruth was a member of Bridgeport Community Church, Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, and finally, Frankenmuth Bible Church. The Lord Jesus Christ revealed Himself to her at age 16, and she walked by the Spirit of Christ, from that time forth and forever.
With affection and reflection on 52 years of residency, she spoke of her home and neighbors on Mary Lane in Frankenmuth. Her friend group, ladies-in-stitches group, quilters' guild, Christian and University women's clubs were precious to her. Her final ministry was knitting caps for Warmth for Warriors.
Surviving Ruth are one son, Rev. David Norczyk of Spokane, Washington, his wife, Stephanie, and seven grandchildren: Carlie (Jeffrey) Bieber (Hillsboro, OR); Michael McInerney (Camp LeJeune, NC); Camille Norczyk (Eugene, OR); Nathan, Claudia, Nekoda, and Katherine Norczyk of Spokane, WA. Also surviving: son-in-law Richard McInerney (Kristine Mikolaizyk-McInerney).
Our family is grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staffs at Covenant Glen; Covenant Cooper; and Wellspring.
According to Ruth's wishes cremation has taken place. A private burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date. Memorials can be directed to: Christian Light Ministries, FBO Dr. Larry Whiting, 8421 Baymeadows Way, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., Frankenmuth, MI.
