Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 3 rd , 2021, at Henry Ford Hospital; age 78 years. Sally Sohn was born on February 2 nd , 1943 in Saginaw, MI to the late Harold and Edna Sohn. She was married to Robert Loesel on June 23 rd , 1962. While in high school, she worked as a CO-OP student at Frankenmuth News and later at Bronner's. After graduation from FHS Sally worked at Bronner's from 1960-1967 until becoming a stay-at-home mother to raise her children as well as her "many other children." Sally then returned to Bronner's from 1988 until 2013. She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Sally held a deep passion for helping people. Whether through church outreach or in a more personal neighborly manner, she was known for her giving spirit and steadfast dedication to those in need. Her enjoyment came from being with family and friends, working in her flower and vegetable garden, and cooking and baking (especially homemade pie and turkey dressing). Sally was instrumental in starting a recycling program in the area and insisted that everyone should recycle everything .
Besides her husband Robert, Sally is survived by her daughter Peggy (Jay) Andrews of Mason, MI; two sons Roger (Ann Hosafros) Loesel of Columbus, OH and Paul (Chuck Ragsdale) Loesel of Greenwood Lake, NY; grandchildren Jared (Meghan) Andrews, Jane Riley, Ben Andrews, Gunther and Clayton Loesel; great-grandchildren Aaron and Aila Andrews; her brother David Sohn; and her sister-in-law Janet (Jerome) Korf.
Sally was predeceased by her sister-in-law Arlene (Henry) Clouse.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 8 th , 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Burial will take place in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Sally's family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Franklin Avenue Mission "Fam-Jam" or the City of Saginaw Rescue Mission.
