Sue Weess

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side, after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 10, 2026; age 87 years. Sue Kraner was born on July 15, 1938 in Fostoria, OH to the late H. Wade and Loma Kraner. She was married to Karl Weess on June 21, 1958; he predeceased her on December 5, 2005. Sue was a member of the Frankenmuth Women's Club and 4-H. She enjoyed spending time at Sanford Lake. Sue's interests were photography, watercolor painting, traveling, genealogy, antiquing, scrapbooking, sewing, and searching for lighthouses and grist mills. Sue had a collection of over 1,000 salt and pepper shakers.

Surviving are three daughters and one son, Sharolyn (Robin) Mays of Dandridge, TN; Kurtis (Christine) Weess, Krystal Weess and Stephanie (David) Galganski, all of Frankenmuth; her seven grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Patrick (fiancée Christie) Welch, Jacqueline and Gregory (Sophie) Weess; D.J. (Karie) Galganski, Randi (Jeff) Hetzner, Kassi (Luke) Krieger and Joshua (Bry) Galganski; great grandchildren Adam, Lexi, and Charli Hetzner, Paycen and Stanley Galganski, and Wayne Krieger.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Burial to take place at Frankenmuth Township Cemetery. Sue's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
