Susan Rummel Dean

Susan Elaine (Rummel) Dean went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 2, 2024.

Susan was born on February 25, 1960 to Mary Ann (Schuknecht) and the late William Rummel.  She attended St. Lorenz Lutheran School and Frankenmuth High School.  Susan went on to graduate from Michigan State University and Cooley Law School where she met her future husband Jonathan S. Dean.

Jon and Sue were married on December 30, 1987 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  The couple then moved to Ocala Florida to practice law.

Susan was very active in the Ocala community and especially in her church, St. John, Ocala, where she served on many boards and committees for the church and school.

With her husband Jon, Sue enjoyed golf and travel and was a dedicated Detroit and Michigan State sports fan. She enjoyed time with her dear friends and her large extended family of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sue is survived by her husband Jon, mother Mary Ann Rummel, one brother, William G. (Annette) Rummel, two sisters, Cari (Mike Seiler) Rummel and Martha Rummel, and in-laws Ed (Sarah) Dean, Joan West, Dale and (Iris) Dean, Linda (Jonny) Hightower and their families. She also has two nieces, Elizabeth (Brandon) Semrau and Sarah (Zakry Sparger) Rummel, and adorable grand niece and nephew Sutton and Carter Semrau.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Sue's family will receive visitors at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Lorenz Foundation or the Salvation Army.
