Susanne Marie Zwerk "Susie"

Frankenmuth, MI

Susie went home peacefully to her Savior on Friday, May 5 ^th , 2023; age 76 years. She entered this world on June 25 ^th , 1946 to the late Howard and Lorraine "Mutzie" Rogner. Susie married Ronald Zwerk on August 27 ^th , 1966. After 56 years, he preceded her in death on January 17 ^th , 2023.

Susie was a lifelong resident of Gera, never leaving her childhood home. She loved to spend time tending a large garden and baking many varieties of Christmas cookies to share with everyone. Susie also hosted gatherings at the famous GCC such as birthdays, reunions, weddings, bible classes, etc. Vocations included time spent in the banking, trucking, and waitressing industries, as well as holding office of township treasurer. Never to leave her mind idle, she enjoyed dice, card, and word games in her spare time; always trying to win a penny or two from family and friends while playing them. Being a lifetime member of St Lorenz, Susie's biggest passion was her love for and faith in Jesus Christ. Sharing that with others led her to support various missions, join many evangelism-based groups through her church, become a Stephen Minister, and give out hugs and words of encouragement to all those that crossed her path.

Surviving are: children, Rebecca (Ricky) Pavlik of Bay City and Matthew (EeShel) Zwerk of Munger; five grandchildren: Erin Murdoch, Ethan, Christian, Ezmae, and Landon Zwerk; one great-grandson Henry Schwartz; brothers Jim (Cindy) Rogner, Bill (Sue) Rogner, Fred (Diane) Rogner; close brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Sharen Roeser, Joy (Dave) Koch, Charles (Deborah) Zwerk, and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Susie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Alvin "Butch" Ortner; brothers-in-law Tom Jaffke, Ron Roeser, and Robert Zwerk, and sister-in-law Karen Jaffke.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 12 ^th , 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola Road. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate. Susie's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth 590 N. Franklin, on Thursday May 11 ^th , from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Lorenz Music Ministry, the St. Lorenz Lutheran School Tuition Assistance, or the Stephen Ministries. Or, if you feel inclined, please make an extra donation to your home church in memory of Susie; she wanted nothing more than God's church on earth to flourish and spread His word.
