Thomas C. Meares

Frankenmuth, MI (Formerly of Prudenville, MI)

Passed away peacefully with family by his side Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at his home; age 91 years. Tom was born on October 29, 1934 in Detroit, MI to the late Thomas Sr. and Louise Meares. He was married to the former Kay Felt on January 23, 1955; she predeceased him on April 16, 2026. They were married for seventy-one wonderful years, only being apart for 6 days when he passed, continuing their love story in Heaven.

Tom was a member of the Celtic Cross Church in Warren, Michigan and the Houghton Lake Global Methodist Church in Houghton Lake, Michigan.

Surviving are: 5 children Linda (Greg) Bodker of Houghton Lake, MI, Susan (Bob Rothe) Meares of Prudenville, MI, Pattie (Tom) Hummer of Amherstburg, ON, Tom (Susan) Meares of Oxford, MI and Nancy (Craig) Tieppo of Waterford, MI; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Besides his wife Kay and his parents, Tom was preceded in death by brother Louis Meares.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Tom's family would like to thank Winter Village of Frankenmuth and A&D Home Care and Hospice for their loving compassionate care.
