Timothy Grant Brooks

Timothy Grant Brooks passed away Tuesday, January 5th, 2020, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit at age 59 of liver failure.  Tim was born on July 20, 1961, in Capac, MI to the late Neal and Wanda Brooks.  He graduated from Capac High School and Michigan State University.  He married the love of his life, Tanya Rudyj, who predeceased him in 2009.  Most recently employed by Star of the West Milling Company in Frankenmuth, MI, Tim worked in auditing, finance, and business. Always active in the Lutheran Church, Tim was a member of Frankenmuth St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  An avid runner, Tim participated with the Flint Area Running Group and ran multiple marathons. Additionally, he enjoyed being outdoors, kayaking, listening to blues music, spending time at the cabin, and with family and friends.

Tim is survived by his children Hannah (Chris Flaska) Brooks of Grand Rapids, MI and Rylee "Ross" Brooks of Missoula, MT; siblings Rhonda (Jim) Klann and Geneal Brooks; his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces; his close friends Betty Crocker, Mike Green, Paula Harris, Wendy Suter, his Single 20's friends, and many others.

Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 11th, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan, officiated by Pastor Shawn Fenske. The service will also be streamed at https://stlorenz.org/stream/ .  Tim's family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial service for Tim will also be planned for this coming summer.
