Veronica
Horn
Dec 19, 1954 — Jan 25, 2025
Veronica Lynn Horn, of Frankenmuth, Michigan, passed away peacefully, with family at her side at the age of 70. Known for her dedication to faith, family, and her community, Veronica was a pillar of strength and compassion for all who knew her.
As President and CEO, Veronica excelled in identifying priorities and strategies related to managing the nearly 1000-members of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce. Her ability to build relationships across all communities of interest served the region well, and helped grow Saginaw by bringing people together.
Veronica's professional journey included significant roles, including serving on the staff for two U.S. Congressmen and as State Government Affairs Manager for Dow Corning/Hemlock Semiconductor Corporations. Her efforts were instrumental in several landmark accomplishments in Saginaw County, including securing funds for the Downtown Saginaw Exit Ramp project and managing the leading efforts to save the former Saginaw Civic Center/Dow Events Center. Veronica was also a founding member of the Henry Marsh Institute for Public Policy at SVSU.
Beyond her professional achievements, Veronica was renowned for her caring nature, especially towards the backyard squirrels and cardinals she loved to feed. Her culinary skills delighted her family, and her deep faith in God was a guiding force throughout her life.
Born in Deckerville, MI, Veronica was the beloved wife to Kenneth Horn, and a devoted mother to Kevin Horn and his wife Ruth Grefa-Horn of Frankenmuth, MI, as well as Andrea (Horn) Shelepova and her partner Olivia of Portland, OR. She was a cherished grandmother to Liam and Aaliyah Horn
Veronica's siblings include William Eckenswiller, Harrison, JoAnn Crary, Frankenmuth, Annette (Willy) Rummel, Frankenmuth, and Douglas (Alana) Eckenswiller, Richville, MI.
Veronica was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Marilyn Eckenswiller and her sister, Marilyn "Mardi" Eckenswiller. She rejoins in eternal peace her precious granddaughter, Zelda "Zellie" Horn.
Veronica's legacy of service continues through her roles at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and as a guiding force for many public and nonprofit initiatives. Her loss is deeply felt by all whose lives she touched.
