Vickie Everson

Vickie Lynn (Giesken) Everson born December 1, 1945 in Alma, Michigan, passed away on August 27, 2022. Vickie is the daughter of Reta May (Decker) Giesken and Maynard Alfred Giesken.

Vickie is survived by her husband Thomas Everson of Frankenmuth. Tom and Vickie were married August 19, 1967 at the Alma Presbyterian Church in Alma, Michigan after meeting at Alma College.  She received her Bachelors of Elementary Education at Alma College graduating in 1967.  Vickie also received her Master's degree in Library Science in 1970 from Central Michigan University. Vickie has lived in Frankenmuth for 55 years and taught at Lorenz C. List Elementary for 34 years. She taught various grades during her time at List including Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. She very much enjoyed teaching young students and had a lot of fun with many of her co-workers.

Vickie has been a member of the United Methodist Church of Frankenmuth since 1967. She enjoyed many activities such as spending time with family going on vacations, knitting, baking, reading, spending summers at the East Tawas City Park, and of course shopping with her granddaughter Reeva.

Surviving family members besides her husband Tom are her daughter Sarah Lynn Bigelow (Kirk Bigelow) of Shelby Township, Michigan, and granddaughter Reeva Lynn Everson-Bigelow. Son Marc Thomas Everson of Tawas, Michigan. Brother Terry Giesken (Alice Giesken) of Strongsville, Ohio.

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, 346 Vates St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Ryan Wenburg will officiate. Cremation will follow. Vickie's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
