Viola Poellet Schian

Frankenmuth, MI

Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Covenant Glen Memory Care of Frankenmuth; age 96 years. Viola was born on July 7, 1929 in Tuscola County, Michigan to the late Clarence and Ida Keinath. She married Ralph Poellet on June 18, 1949 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. He predeceased her on April 17, 1987. On January 29, 2004 Viola married Harold Schian. He predeceased her on October 15, 2012. Viola was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Viola worked for Ben Franklin for 27 years, nine of those years managing the Fabricana. After retiring from Ben Franklin, Viola worked eight years for Hush Puppy. She also found time to volunteer at The Lutheran Home and Frankenmuth Historical Museum and received the "Special Events" Volunteer Award in 1997. After retiring at age 75, Viola volunteered at the Clothesline in Frankenmuth and the Economy Center in Bay City. Viola was a member of the Lotanoise Club and also kept busy doing many things she loved: playing euchre, crocheting, gardening, baking, fishing, and walking. And she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are one son and one daughter: Robert (Wendy) Poellet and Mary (Donald) Huber. Viola is also survived by three grandchildren: Rachel (Chad) Cooper, Chad Huber, and Kari Huber; and four great-grandchildren. Viola also leaves her sister Shirley Reinert and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.

Viola was preceded in death by her brother Arnold Keinath, sister Audrey Prenzler, and infant sister Arlene.
