Went home with his Lord Tuesday October 26, 2021, at Covenant Medical Center Cooper; age 81 years. Wally was born on November 16, 1939 to the late Alvin and Agnes Schluckebier. He married Helga Schillinger on September 9, 1964 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church; she survives him.
Wally owned and operated Schluckebier Oil and Propane, and was previously employed by Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, Star of the West Milling Company, and William Bronner Construction. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church where he was also an usher for many years, a church Elder, and sang with the male choir. Wally was a member of the Gemutlichkeit club and was a 4-H leader for 30 years. He enjoyed bowling and sponsored a team in Frankenmuth and in Bridgeport. He also loved to travel.
Surviving besides his wife are: son Gregg (Janet) Schluckebier of Burt, MI; daughters Debra Landin of Frankenmuth, MI and Erika (Christopher) Tinney of Holland, MI; 8 grandchildren Andrew, Rebekah, Jessika, Monika, Dominik, Kendal, Calvin, and Garret; 7 great grandchildren Danielle, Makayla, Colton, Joslyn, Olivia, Evelyn, and Emma; brothers and sisters LeRoy Schluckebier, Stuart (Elisabeth) Schluckebier, and Diane (James) Karst.
Wally was preceded in death by Floyd (Inge) Schluckebier and sister-in-law Virginia Schluckebier.
Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery. Wally's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Male Choir.
