Walter Junior Reinbold

Blumfield Twp, MI

Passed away unexpectedly at home Monday, October 26, 2020; age 78 years. Walter was born on May 1, 1942 to the late Walter and Arlene (Beyer) Reinbold. He was a farmer in the Frankenmuth area all his life. Walter was a commercial pilot and flight instructor for many years, he had his Inspectors Certificate and Mechanics License. Walter and his wife Edna taught approximately 200 students at Reinbold Flying Service. Walter had a passion for flying his airplane and had many trips throughout the United States and England. He was a member of the Saginaw County Sheriff Aviation Division, where he assisted tirelessly with the DEA. Walter also enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time with his dog Rosie.

He graduated from Frankenmuth High School in 1961, where he continues to hold the record for high hurdles in track, and excelled in football. He also enjoyed playing euchre, watching the Detroit Tigers and professional football. He was a member of the Richville and Frankenmuth Conservation Clubs, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Experimental Aircraft Association and Cub Club.

Walter was married to his wife of 58 years Edna (Rupprecht) on September 8, 1962, she survives him. Surviving besides his wife are children Erin (Roger) Clothier, Russell (Diane) Reinbold, Holly (Darryl) Mahan; grandchildren Laura, Jack, and Heidi Clothier, Victoria and Elizabeth Reinbold, Carl and Eric Mahan. He is also survived by his sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8220 Holland Rd., Frankentrost, MI.  Rev. Mark Loest and Rev. Daniel Wojtowicz will officiate with burial in Blumfield Twp. Cemetery. Walter's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
